Big Swords are Here!
Earlier this week we caught a 520lb swordfish aboard my boat "Datsnasty". We hooked the fish roughly 15 miles offshore on a bonito belly with a 10/0 J hook. The fight lasted about 2.5 hours. We have had several reports of big fish caught all week. This is the time when the big fish migrate through our area so it your dream is to catch a big sword now would be the time. The big fish migration should last through November. In addition to the swordfish many boats have reported catches of large mahi-mahi weighing up to 40lbs. The mahi-mahi have been caught in the same 15 mile area offshore.
