Rosies
We put out a film today giving tips and techniques on catching black belly rose fish like the one pictured here. These are some of the tastiest fish in the ocean. We generally catch these in a depth of 800 to 900 feet of water. These rosies as we call them are relatively easy to catch with circle hooks and squid or fish bait.
They move around and it may take a drop or two to find them but these fish usually school up in colonies and are plentiful. On those slow days of swordfishing it is always nice to make a drop or two on the way in and load up on some groceries.
