These hooksets are perfect for trolling for all big game fish. We use 600-pound 7x7 cable on the 8/0- and 900-pound cable on the 9/0,10/0, and 11/0 hooksets. We use heavy duty strength copper crimps with the thick wall for the connections. We also use heat shrink with glue to cover the crimps and the eye of the hook. The hook is our southern tuna style hook that we put in all of our rigged trolling lures. As for the loop at the top of the hookset it is covered with a protective chaffing gear so that when you add your monofilament leader to the hookset and hook a giant fish the monofilament is protected.

As for the monofilament leader that you need to add to the hookset we suggest:

250lb for the 8/0
250lb or 300lb for the 9/0
300lb for the 10/0
400lb or 500lb for the 11/0
