59.4 Pound Wahoo
Local fishermen Mike "Tarmellow" Tarmey from Lighthouse Point landed this 59.4 pound wahoo this week. The wahoo was landed using a live goggle eye for bait and a vmc 6/0 circle hook attached to 15 foot section of 40lb fluorocarbon leader. What a catch it was as the fish was hooked perfectly in the roof of the mouth. Under normal circumstances this fish would have cut the leader in two seconds. One more note to add, the fish was caught in a sailfish tournament and worth $18,500.
