The other day on our weekly Mission Fishin" trip we really hit the jackpot. I called Capt. Skip Dana from the Fish City Pride fleet and asked him where I could catch some snappers quickly. He said that this time of the year most people drive over them into deeper water never realizing that they school up in shallow water way inshore. When I say inshore I mean like in 45 feet of water! We dropped over the first bait at around 8am and we were tight fighting fish for over an hour.I then called Skip to thank him and he said to find his boat about a mile north of Hillsboro Inlet. He had set up a drift and was catching Vermillion snappers and large trigger fish on every hook. We took the one mile trip and set up right next to the Fish City Pride and caught some more trophy fish. With our box full of fish and tired arms we returned to port feeling victorious. What a day it was...
