Helen S Crushes Snappers
The drift boat Helen S. out of Hillsboro Inlet continues to put up big numbers of yellowtail and vermillion snappers. The vermillion bite has been on the deep side out to around 200 feet and the yellowtails remain in around the 75 foot mark. Circle hooks are the ticket for the vermillions tipped with squid or cut fish. As for the yellowtails anchoring will work best with chum. Drift back some small jigs tipped with squid or silversides into the chum and hold on. The best current for either of these snappers will be a north current. (that means the water is pushing towards the north).
