Early this week we had a group of Brazilian fishermen fly in to fish with us. Their goal was to learn the technique of daytime sword fishing. There are plenty of swordfish in Brazil but nobody catches them. These guys set aside 4 days to fish so that they were hopefully assured of catching a swordfish. On our first day of fishing we headed out of Hillsboro inlet at around 7am. We began fishing around 8 am and we were hooked up by 8:10. We fought the sword for 30 minutes before landing the a 400lb prize. These guys traveled 3,500 miles to catch a swordfish and it was done before 9am on the first day of fishing.
