A wet weekend still brings possibilities of big catches

Anglers looking to catch something this weekend shouldn’t let the wet weather stop them. “The weekend looks like it’s going to be wet but the seas should be calm,” said Jeff Walls, manager of RJ Boyle Studios in Lighthouse Point.

And if the weekend is anything like this week so far, Walls says it should be happy hunting. “Bottom fishing has been decent with a few cobia being caught and some mutton snapper and yellow tail snapper.”

So far this week, some dolphin, blackfin tuna, bonita and kingfish have also took a bite out of a few lures. “People that have been venturing out have been catching things at 80 to 300 ft. of water trolling and live baiting,” said Walls.
