Big Fish Dreams

Big Fish Dreams

Over the next few months we will see some big swordfish caught. Historically around Halloween we start to catch what we call travelers or migrating fish. These fish travel long distances making their way around the world. Swordfish stop to feed in the areas off our coast due to the fact that bait seems to settle here. We will start to see tinker mackerel, squid, and eel schools on our depth recorders. If catching a big swordfish is a dream of yours then try fishing over the next three months. The swordfish pictured here was caught last Saturday aboard the "Datsnasty". The bait used was a bonito belly rigged on 300 pound test leader with an 11/0 7691s southern tuna bend hook.
South Florida is the number one place in the world to catch swordfish. If you are interested in crossing swordfish off your bucket list let us know as we have a list of charter captains who specialize in catching these tremendous fish.
