Big Swords in the Gulfstream
Pictured here is Mike Cates with a 400 pound swordfish that he caught a few days back. This fish certainly fed a lot of people! The swordfish bite has been off the chain and the big ones are sitting right off our coast as we speak. If your dream is to catch a big swordfish now would be the time as the migrational pattern will keep them in our area for the next 30 days or so. We have had reports of at least six boats catching Swordfish over 300 pounds this last week and several boats catching multiples. As for the near shore fishing the wahoo bite has been consistent out to 350 feet of water but the mahi-mahi boat has been nonexistent. The kingfish bite has been relatively slow.
The one thing you can definitely count on right now is the snapper fishing. Yellowtail and mutton snapper have been chewing and the best depth is 80 feet of water.
If you have any questions or need an up to the minute fishing report please call us at the shop at 954-420-5001. Have a great weekend!
