Six different anglers hooked blue marlin while trolling for mahi-mahi this week. In the summertime when dolphin fish migrate through our area they are usually tailed by blue marlin. The story that we hear is that the angler hooked a dolphin and out of nowhere a blue marlin came up and ate it. The angler usually fights the marlin on the light tackle for dolphin and the line breaks within the first few minutes of the fight. More boats need to actually go fishing for marlin using a little heavier tackle and they will still catch the smaller dolphin.
