Fishing Has Been Excellent Since Thanksgiving!

Fishing Has Been Excellent Since Thanksgiving!
Pictured here is the "Lisa B" charter from a few days back. This is what you could expect to catch right after Thanksgiving. We are seeing lots of mahi-mahi and skipjack tuna on edges and tide lines out to 600 feet of water. It sure is a pleasure catching mahi-mahi as these fish has been elusive over the last several months. We are hoping they stay around during the winter months.
With our first cold snap we should see the fishing stay consistent throughout the weekend. Several wahoos were caught in the 250-foot depth range this week and they were caught on both live bait and trolling. When we see little skipjack tuna around, we know wahoo can be close by. Skipjack tuna is like candy for wahoo!
The sailfish bite was excellent this week and should continue to be hot for a few months.
Farther offshore the swordfish bite is finally heating up! We actually expected it to be good last month, and the bite never came to fruition but that has all changed now. The swords are here and they're ranging in weight anywhere from 150 pounds up to 400 pounds.
We did have a report of some young anglers catching a yellowfin tuna over 100 pounds on the reef last week. This is a good sign and shows that the migration pattern of pelagic fish is in full swing.
Tis the season!
