Nice Mahi-Mahi Caught Close to Shore!

Nice Mahi-Mahi Caught Close to Shore!

This picture will give you something to look forward to for the weekend. Even with the kids going back to school some anglers were still able to pop out for a few hours of trolling and the fish are still biting! The mahi that you see in this picture were caught by Roy Leukert off of Lighthouse Point a few days back. The mahi bite has moved a bit closer to shore which is great news especially when fuel is so expensive. These fish were caught 2 miles offshore trolling sea witches and bonito strips. Cody and Carly Bandura from Pompano Beach also caught a 35lb wahoo and a few bonito on a trip this week.

Further inshore my buddy Tom crushed the yellowtail while anchored off of Boca Raton in 75 feet of water. He had perfect one knot north tide conditions which is ideal for the snapper bite. Make sure to bring plenty of chum for the snappers and don’t be afraid to fish even shallower around fifty feet if the current is ripping too hard.

Get tight!
