Sailfish are On The Move!

Sailfish are On The Move!

Pictured here is Ken Gosky from New Jersey with his catch from a morning charter a few days back aboard the Lisa B. Ken and his wife caught their first sailfish and a few wahoo. Over the last week, several boats have released multiple sailfish and the best of it seemed to be around 200 feet of water. This fish was caught while trolling bonito strips on the farthest rod behind the boat. While we were trolling it seemed like most of the luck was happening on live bait for the other boats targeting sails. Using kites to suspend live baits is really the ticket if want to put up numbers on sails. The use of a kite keeps all of the line and leader out of the water above the baitfish. The current has been a little bit light. We are noticing that traveling a few miles to the north, around Boca or Delray, the current is a bit stronger and the fishing is a bit better. For an up to date fishing report give us a call at the store at 954-420-5001 or tune into the Paul Castronovo show on Fridays at 6:40 AM.

Get tight!
