I took a trip to Palm Beach on Wednesday to fish with Capt. Allen Fields for sheepshead. I had no idea that you could really target these fish at all. I have always seen them in different locations from back canals to inlets but not in big numbers like we saw on this trip. We caught 20 fish up to 8 pounds along with a mutton snapper and some undersized mangroves. These fish are extremely strong and put up an awesome fight. Capt. Al says that the bite is the best around the full moon. We fished shallow water with a maximum depth of 12 feet on a rocky patch reef and used live shrimp for bait. The best thing about sheepshead is that they taste soooo good. Give us a call to arrange a day of fishing with Capt. Allen.
