The fish that you see here in this cooler were caught on wednesday during the day. Light north tide with a light southeast wind proves perfect for targeting yellowtail and vermillion snapper. The best of the fishing for the yellowtails was 75 feet just north of Boca Inlet. The vermillion snapper were caught just south of port everglades in 225 feet of water. You need to make sure that the wind is not blowing in the opposite direction to the current. The yellowtails were caught while anchored and chumming. We were drifting 1/8oz. jig heads with silversides on them. The vermillion snapper were caught using a guppy rig with 1/0 circle hooks baited with squid.
Have a safe 4th of July.
