Swordfish Bite Should Be Excellent Again This Weekend

Swordfish Bite Should Be Excellent Again This Weekend
Pictured here is Chris Nelms with a big swordfish weighing 257 pounds from earlier this week with Capt Ryan Goldman. Several other anglers reported fish in the 300-pound range which is right on par for this time of year. If your dream is to catch a big swordfish, then now is the time. There are several local charter boats that we can set you up with that are completely dialed in for this type of fishing. This fish was caught in 1650 feet of water on a bonito belly. We actually fished the day after this fish was caught and got skunked. When we were fishing the rainy front was on top of us which will shut the swordfish bite down. Picking the right day to go is a crapshoot but that's why they call it fishing and not catching. We should see a good swordfish bite this weekend.
Closer to shore the wahoo bite was excellent with fish ranging up to 25 pounds. We are anticipating seeing some bigger fish caught with all of the bait that is around. One of our local captains, captain Art Sapp aboard the "Native Son," won a big sailfish tournament out of Palm Beach last week. He also put-up numbers all week on the sails catching multiple almost every day.
