I usually charter Miami Capt. Russell Kleppinger once a month for snook, tarpon, and redfish. We usually fish around the Miami area from Haulover inlet to Government Cut as well as Flamingo . Capt. Russ is completely dialed in when it comes to bringing fish to the boat. This time of the year tarpon and snook fishing are on fire. Most of the tarpon average 75lbs. but we have caught fish up to 150lbs. His boat is an Egret and is set up with a fighting chair on the bow to fight fish from. On a trip last week with Capt. Russell we caught 4 tarpon and jumped off 3 more. The ocean conditions are not always pleasant so fishing the backwater gives you the ability to get out on the water and catch some fish.
