Wahoo and Tuna Are Still Chewing out Front!

Wahoo and Tuna Are Still Chewing out Front!
This wonderful group of young men charter us every month right after the full moon. If you look at the Instagram page for the "Lisa B" you can see that Bill Bouck knows when to go to catch a wahoo or more. As I am writing this article, we are six days past the full moon and the wahoo bite is still really good. It is so amazing that the moon can have such a positive effect on most types of pelagic fishing. Around the world people travel to far off destinations to fish on the full moon for billfish as well. Fishing around the rise and set of the moon in the daytime is the best time to get a bite. The other major factor is the outgoing tide which provides the best time as well to get bit by a wahoo. The beginning of the outgoing tide for the first two hours is prime time. The sailfish bite was also excellent this week from Miami to Palm Beach. The cold snap that we are experiencing has the fish on the move. Kite fishing is by far the best way to catch sails with live bait. We caught several sails early this week with Capt Art Sapp during our monthly Crew Platform fishing trip. This was a hands-on outing booked strictly for learning. If you are interested in learning techniques for most saltwater fishing check out the crew platform.com
