This is by far the best year of wahoo fishing I can ever remember. I usually write these articles around the full moon but I can tell you that even with a small moon the wahoo just keep biting. Pictured here is Joe Masone fishing aboard the "Debra" out of Hillsboro Inlet with a prized wahoo. These fish seem to be biting best using planers with strips or ballyhoo for bait. As for trolling speed 8 knots was the ticket this week. The Bolo out of the Cove Marina also put up catches of wahoo all week. Capt. George Disbery and first mate Thomas Bardes caught 4 wahoo and some nice dolphin on a trip earlier this week. As for the offshore fishing, dolphin were slim but the swords were well abundant. We also noticed lots of free jumping sailfish on the swordfish grounds which is around 15 miles off the beach.
