We Continue To Have Stellar Fishing Off Hillsboro

We Continue To Have Stellar Fishing Off Hillsboro

The week was filled with wonderful catches of mahi-mahi, big blackfin tuna, sailfish and lots of kingfish. Tournament season is in full swing, and the boats are putting up big numbers. The boat "First in Line" won last weekends "Trashcan Slam Tournament" which celebrated its 10th year and existence. This team of anglers put up 296lbs. of fish to take the win. "No Jonah, No Drama" took second place with 237.5lbs. and third place boat was "Off the Wall" with 224.5lbs. Mikaela Whitmer the founder and tournament director sure has done a lot to benefit the autism community by donating proceeds to this wonderful cause. She started this event years ago and the event is still picking up steam as it is fished by some of the most talented local anglers. Thank you, Mikaela, for all you do!

We should see the fishing stay consistently excellent this week as we are creeping closer to summertime. Summertime means afternoon storms but nicer sea conditions. I'm sure you have noticed the extremely humid weather we have been having. Humid mornings are usually followed by afternoon thunderstorms. When you venture offshore, please let friends and family know when you were going to return. Always be safe out there.
Get tight!
