Weather Finally Looks Great for Fishing This Weekend

Pictured here is the Sansone charter from a few days back aboard the "Lisa B". Mahi-Mahi fishing has been consistent most of the week and the great thing is they are not very far offshore. Most of the Mahi have been around 300 feet deep. The wahoo bite backed off this week as the moon is on the smaller side. This weekend we should see some really good swordfish catches with the stable barometer and improving weather. Chris Nelms out of Lighthouse Point caught a 200lb sword early this week. The best of the sword bite has been right at first light in around 1,700 feet of water. The other fish here in the middle on the filet table is called a blue line tile fish and they are excellent eating. These fish can be caught off Hillsboro inlet anywhere from 400-500 feet of water. The best technique to catch the tiles is a chicken rig with 4/0 light wire circle hooks and squid for bait. Tiles love muddy bottom. Start fishing in 500 feet and simply drift until you start to get bites. These fish move around daily.
