Weekend Weather Looks Perfect For Fishing With Mom!
We are going to get some beautiful fishing weather this weekend. Saturday look for light winds out of the west which will create flat calm seas. Sunday the wind switches to north northeast but less than 10 knots.
The week has been filled with mixed bag catches of mahi-mahi, blackfin tuna, wahoo and sailfish. Most of the boats out of Hillsboro inlet put up quality catches right outside the inlet. You didn't have to run far to catch some quality fish. Saturday should be a nice day to run offshore looking for a swordfish or some bigger mahi-mahi. A few of the boats fishing in the channel off Lucaya experienced mahi on their way back around the swordfish grounds about 15 miles out.
The yellowfin tuna bite has certainly been off the chain across the way in the Northwest Providence Channel. Boats were catching plenty of tuna up to 60 pounds this week with relative ease as the bird flocks were plentiful. If you're going over to catch tuna, be sure to bring as much live bait as you can. You can catch the tuna while chunking dead baits but having a few live beats shirt certainly helps get the bite going.
The weather is going to be beautiful, and the fishing should be excellent so get mom out there on the water!
